Do You Know Where The Term “Chowdahead” Comes From?
Back in the day, New England eateries would make a large batch of Clam Chowder and freeze it to preserve the seafood soup. Prior to freezing, they inserted a rope in the middle of the vat, so when it hardened they would hang the block of Chowder from the ceiling. When someone asked for Clam chowder, they could conveniently chip off a chunk from the hanging frozen block and re-heat it before serving. After awhile the block began to take on a round, head-like shape.
Today, the term is typically used for someone who has all the characteristics of a true New Englander. It is also used to describe a Diehard Boston Sports Fan. We’re proud of the origin of our company name, and all you Chowdaheadz out there should be too!

Charlie Chowdahead @ New England Revolution vs. Manchester United
On Wednesday night, the Chowdaheadz went down to Gilette stadium for the biggest Soccer event of the summer! Charlie got to play soccer with Coach Jack and the Revs Girls (who totally have a crush on him). Unfortunately, Charlie is shaped more like a Soccer ball than a Soccer player!
Obviously, since the Revs girls loved him so much, Charlie got VIP access to the CBS Scene @ Patriot Place before the game.
Gillette Stadium is always a fantastic place to visit. The crowd was awesome and we met lots of great fans. Charlie can’t wait to go to another Revs game !
Their next home match is Sunday July 17 against the Philadelphia Union
Fan Photos – Charlie In Houston
The Red Sox were struggling on their Interleague road trip, so Charlie flew down to Houston to give them a boost. It must have worked, because the Red Sox swept the Astros to finish off the trip on a positive note!
Special thanks to Chowdahead Suzanne for sending us these Wicked Pissah photos!
“Charlie’s enjoying his Diamond Seat at the Houston Astros. He’s quite the ‘supastah’ and everyone recognizes him!”
“Charlie get’s into the most amazing places while travelling. Even ‘Red Sox Baseball Ops’ wanted to meet him in Houston.”

The Clam Could Become The Official Shellfish Of Massachusetts!
This is the day we’ve been waiting for, Chowdaheadz! There is a bill going through the Statehouse right now that could make the Quahog (nickname for Clam) the official shellfish of the Bay State!
The word Quahog (pronounced Co-Hog) is derived from the Native American term for my species. The movement was started over 2 years ago by 7th graders in Taunton, Mass. Thanks to the kids in Taunton for getting the ball rolling! Let’s hope the State lawmakers get this one right.
