5 Spooky Massachusetts Hayrides To Brave Your Way Through This October

Haunted houses have their share of scares, but there is just something about ghosts, ghouls, zombies and deranged clowns emerging from the wilderness that really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

If you are in search of the perfect outdoor fright fest, try one of these haunted hayrides open from now through Halloween across Massachusetts.

Harvest of Horrors, East Falmouth

Every Friday and Saturday night from 6:30 – 9:00, Cape Cod’s scariest attraction offers haunted hayride across Tony Andrews’ 20 acres of farm land, followed by a creepy hike through the forest! Recommended for adults and brave kids 12 and up.

 

Monster Mash Haunted Hayride at McCray’s Farm, South Hadley

This place is much more than just a quaint hayride, it’s an entire haunted attraction! Now in its 24th season, The DON (Diagnostic Operations Nexus) Genetic Research Facility is crawling with scientifically enhanced super-zombies and the rest of the large farm is dotted with eerie props and blood-curdlingly made up actors.

Century Hayride and Spooky Walk, Auburn

Every Friday and Saturday throughout October you can get your ghostly thrills at the Century Sportsman’s Club. 2017 marks their 17th year hosting their haunted hayride and spooky walk which benefit local charities. This year’s events will raise money for Veterans Inc. of Worcester which seeks to end homelessness among veterans by providing case management, housing, employment and training, health and wellness, food pantries and clothing, and support services for families.

Spooky Acres Hayride and Trail of Terror, Millbury

The non-profit organization, Millbury Youth Camp Inc. is celebrating it’s 22nd year of offering it’s seasonal fundraising event SPOOKY ACRES HAUNTED HAYRIDE. This year they are adding the SPOOKY ACRES – TRAIL OF TERROR, a terrifying walk through 13 acres of forest.

“Listen me well and heed my tongue Our journey into Darkness has just begun The tractor is wrecked, without chance to be fixed We must make it out or we’ll cease to exist Following the Trail to find our way Hoping to see another day The creatures are hungry and lurking around If we don’t take caution, we are sure to be found With the edge of the forest almost in sight Praying all survive the TERROR tonight.”

Witch’s Woods, Westford

Witch’s Woods features seven haunted attractions, including a haunted hayride through the Nashoba Valley Ski Area, a terrifying journey through the halls of lost souls at Castle Morbid and Nightmare Mansion, the zombified graveyard of Keeper’s Crypt, and a Hollywood horror-themed Chamber of Chills. Open Thursday through Sunday evenings through Halloween.
