Scituate, Massachusetts is a lovely seaside village on the state’s south shore. Located about halfway between Boston and Cape Cod, it draws visitors seeking quiet solitude away from the city without the throngs of tourists on the Cape.
Before I go any further I should disclose that I am particularly partial to Scituate since it is my own hometown – Go Sailors! Okay, now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, let’s get back to business!
Another from last night with some lighter tones on this one. . . . . . #moodygrams #shotzdelight #longexpo_addiction #longexpoelite #ig_shotz #ig_shotz_le #lighthouse #lighthousemagazine #lighthousesofinstagram #lighthouses_windmills_gs #sunset #sunset_pics #sunset_vision #sunsets #sunset🌅 #topsunsetshots #igsunset #theskyvibess #skylovers #skyvibes #longexposure_shots
Over the years, Scituate has managed to keep up with culinary trends, offering fabulous dining experiences at eateries like Riva, Oro, Rivershed and the historic Barker Tavern. Despite the incredible food, there has been one thing missing from the Scituate social scene – a brewery!
Siblings Matt Elder and Kristin Greene are working to remedy that situation with their new venture, Untold Brewing, opening this fall. In true Scituate fashion, the brewery is located in an 1852 converted schoolhouse.
#TBTLT Throwback to last Thursday when we moved a house! The South Main Street School (circa 1852) is now resting on brewery property where it will undergo renovations to become our new taproom. For more info about the school, click the blog link in our bio. Special thanks to our incredible landlord Chick Fagan for his vision and hard work to make sure this day went smoothly. Elder is a former employee of the Georgetown Brewing Company in Seattle with a passion for home brewing. While living and working in the Pacific Northwest, he met Kyle Hansen and the pair developed a business plan.
Elder then recruited his sister, Kristin Greene, luring her away from a lucrative career at Google to join Hansen and himself back home in Scituate.
Not only will Untold Brewing be Scituate’s first and only brewery, it will also be the only taproom in the surrounding South Shore towns as well.
The brewery is set to open in September and will feature both indoor and outdoor seating areas to bring the community together.
Untold’s dozen tap handles will include several IPAs and pale ales with nods to their time in Seattle. Patrons can enjoy their pint on site or choose their favorite beer-to-go in growlers, cans and bottles.
South Shore residents rejoice! Hansen and the siblings also plan to host monthly special events to keep you warm all through this coming New England winter and well into the future!
