One more win would secure the Patriots legacy

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots (that’s right, not doing that oxford comma) are four quarters away from being the all-time GOAT.

I mean, that is if you wouldn’t consider them the greatest of all-time already. You can, obviously, and you’d probably be right. But here’s the one that will shut everyone else up because they’ll be in a league of their own with five rings in this dynasty if they’re able to beat the Atlanta Falcons.

Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw won four Super Bowls, and so has Tom Brady. But no one has won five yet, obviously, so that’s pretty much going to be what separates Brady as the greatest quarterback of all-time.

Yes, winning should be what makes the best of all-time. Brady has great stats, but Brett Favre and Peyton Manning have him beat in a few categories. No knock on those guys and their tremendous careers — even if they are more talented guys, but they don’t go down as No. 1 without winning as much as Brady. Just can’t give it to them.

The goal in football is to win the game. You could argue nothing else matters other than winning and losing in such a team sport. It’s how we judge head coaches too — hence why Belichick is a legend. Robert Kraft should be considered a legend too. Guy owns the team and hired Belichick after all.

It’s also worth noting all the criticism this dominant regime has gotten. The tuck rule and spygate would probably be frustrating for bitter fans outside New England. But deflategate and being friends with the guy who became president? OK. Now that’s just reaching. Must be a jealousy thing. So childish. So, so, so childish.

Plus, let’s be honest, Brady winning after that four-game suspension would be the ultimate middle finger to the league.
