The Boston Celtics jerseys are going to look a little different in the future.
Those sponsored NBA jerseys are finally going to kick in for the 2017-2018 NBA season and the Celtics found themselves a sponsor. Boston-based General Electric will have their logo on the Celtics new jerseys and before you go ahead and bash something you might not have seen before, take a look at it.

How much did the C’s make for it? That’s a personal question. That’s like when people ask me if I get paid and how much I get paid to cover high school sports. One of my biggest pet peeves. I don’t go around asking everyone how much money they make, and the C’s shouldn’t have to disclose that stuff if they don’t want to.
But in this case, it’s all public information in pro sports. The C’s are set to make a little over $7 mil a year off this 2 1/2 inch logo. Here’s an interesting twist though…
Nike Celtics jerseys sold nationally next year will not have GE patches on them. Team has option of having patch jerseys to sell in arena.

Remember, this makes the Celtics the second team to implement this sort of garb. The Philadelphia 76ers got StubHub on their side for the future at around $5 mil per season.
It’s such easy money for these teams and the logos are so small, you have to wonder how many sponsors teams will attract — or at least try to attract. What’s the point in getting just one when you could make even more money?
Al Horford doesn’t like it, according to the Boston Herald. Surprising, that an overpaid player wouldn’t want more money.
Terry Rozier, on the other hand, told the Herald he was a fan.
“I like free money,” he told them. “Actually I wouldn’t say it’s free money because we’re out there wearing jerseys and representing, but I guess that’s dope. I’m looking forward to seeing that.”
