When the Brooklyn Nets lost to the Chicago Bulls Monday night, the Celtics officially clinched their spot in the playoffs without even playing a game. The Nets’ loss means there’s no way they can surpass the Celtics; who holds the tiebreaker between the two teams.
At the beginning of the season, no one had much hope for the Celtics; most saw it as a season to ‘rebuild’ after trading Rondo and Jeff Green. They started with a 13-26 start and most people counted them out. Well, the beauty of the playoffs is that every one starts with a 0-0 record.
The Celtics will take on LeBron (and the Cavaliers) in the first round. The times and dates are TBD. Will definitely be an interesting match up! Go C’s!!
