During this week’s blizzard, someone took it upon them self to shovel the Boston Marathon Finish Line on Boylston St. The finish line has a great significance to the city, and the nation, after the fateful events of April 15, 2013. A guest at a Boston hotel took a picture of the individual and tweeted it out. It soon went viral and the Boston Police asked who it was with the hashtag #WhoShoveledTheFinishLine
Wednesday morning an employee at the Boston Bay Social Club took responsibility (err credit?) for doing it. It was Chris Laudani who said, ““I only did it to send a message…I love the Boston Marathon and everything it stands for, the finish line doesn’t deserve to be covered in snow….I’ve been a resident of Massachusetts my whole life. For us, that finish line has become sacred ground. When I looked out there and saw that, I thought, ‘How cool is that?’ I love my city. It just was like, Boston is strong, and even the storm couldn’t stop us.”
This guy is AWESOME and there’s no doubt this tradition will continue for years to come. Man, just when you think you can love this city anymore….something like this happens! One thing is for sure: We Own The Finish Line!
