How ’bout that David Pastrnak?

The 18 year-old rookie is like a breath of fresh air that Bruins need!  After being sent back to Providence for offensive training earlier in the season, he is back on the ice  with his black and gold teammates.  He certainly earned his place this week; resulting in the B’s winning their fourth and fifth consecutive games after a slump that was beginning to make Boston fans nervous!

Thursday marked his 10th game of the season with the Bruins; which means he’s locked into an entry-level contract.  More importantly, if he plays 40 games this season, he’ll get credit for a year of service and be one step closer to being a free agent.

The Czech native has said that none of the contract stuff matters to him; which is probably true since everything he says has been pretty genuine.  He was coached by his father, who also coached the older team and let David practice with them. They would practice on the ice five hours a day until he left the Czech Republic at 15 to play in Sweden where he learned English in hopes to play for the NHL one day.   All his hard work, on and off the  ice, has certainly paid off.  He is taking Bruins Nation by storm and we are quite okay with that!
