Rajon Rondo had a career game against the Knicks on Sunday, shutting down the sensational Jeremy Lin and posting a triple double to lead the Celtics to an overtime victory against the New York Knicks. Rondo squashed all of the swirling trade rumors with his incredible performance at the TD Garden in which he finished with 18 Points, 17 Rebounds, 20 Assists, 1 Steals and 1 Block. This was a benchmark win for a Celtics team that has been struggling to find their identity this year. Boston is one spot above New York in the standings (they sit at 7 and 8 in the East, respectively) making the rivalry clash that much more intense and Rondo really stepped up to the plate. The Jeremy Lin phenomenon has been the biggest story of the NBA season and Rondo outplayed him on both ends of the floor to secure a victory for the Celts. Boston basketball fans are rejoicing: the team is showing toughness and after Sunday’s legendary game… their point guard isn’t going anywhere.
