Gronk Appears Sans Walking Boot

SportsHub- “he wouldn’t say much about his injury, other than that he’s feeling better and is taking it day by day.’I’m not really worried about if I’m not playing or not yet. That’s on Sunday,’ Gronkowski, who was no longer wearing his protective boot, told the reporters crowding his podium at media day. ’The only thing I’m worried about is Tuesday. Just keep on moving forward, going in a positive direction, and that’s all that counts.’ Gronkowski did say he’s feeling “good,” but admitted to some nagging pain.’[The game is] six days away,’ Gronkowski said. ‘I could be 100 percent by then. I could be 2 percent by then. We’re just taking it day by day. ‘ ’I’m young. I’m healthy, and I feel blessed like that. Whatever it is, I hope I’m a quick healer.’”

Gronkowski is being very Belichickian in his word choice here. Not revealing much. The Giants must be very confused over there so hopefully this messes up their game plan. Let’s hope Gronk can heal up for the rematch, but even without him the Pats have enough weapons to carve up the Giants secondary. Even if Gronk gets in for a couple snaps and draws a double team he can free up Welker and Hernandez to do their thing. As long as Tom Brady is on the field I think the Patriots can defeat any defense.

Get well soon, Gronk! We’d love to see you out there but if not we can still bring home that 4th Lombardi!

What To Expect From Patriots Media Day

Tuesday is Media Day in Indianapolis and the biggest question surrounding the Pats is of course the health of TE Rob Gronkowski. Gronk is scheduled to speak at the festivities (which begin at 10 am ET) so perhaps we will learn more about his status. “Roberto” has missed all 3 Patriots practices since the AFC Championship game, so New England fans are chomping at the bit to see if he will be ready to face the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. We’re not doctors, but the Chowdaheadz feel like Gronk will be ready to go for the big game. He is simply too much of a beast to let an ankle sprain keep him out of the Super Bowl. So everyone just keep calm and Gronk on…hopefully we will get some reassurance when Gronkowski takes the podium this morning.

Belichick SUPER Confident In Indy

Bill Belichick seems awfully confident, even chipper during his press conference in Indianapolis on Sunday. He even cracked a joke about his infamous 4th and 2 call against Peyton manning and the Colts in 2009

“I’ve never had too much hospitality here until I went for it on fourth-and-2…Since then I’ve been greeted in a lot more friendly manner than I was in the past.”

If the Hoodie is in this good of a mood, I’m completely ecstatic. The least emotional man in the world seems to be as excited as a school boy for the Super Bowl showdown. We are less than one week away from the biggest game in Pats history. It’s time to get hyped!

Chara Picks All-Star Team

Zdeno Chara, one of two All-Star captains, selected Bruins Teammates Tim Thomas and Tyler Seguin to be part of his squad for Sunday’s NHL All Star game. Chara selected Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk with his first overall pick, citing his enchantment with the Russian’s scoring ability and skill. The NHL All-Star game comes at a great time for the busy Boston Bruins who get a full 5 days off the rest during the break.

Truth, E’Twaun Lead Celtics To Heroic Comeback

The Boston Celtics overcame a 27 point deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic 91-83 on Thursday night thanks to 24 points from Paul Pierce (19 in the second act) and 16 points from rookie E’Twaun Moore coming off the bench. Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo were both sidelined with injury, but the Truth came through in the clutch as he’s done so many times over the years. If Pierce can carry the team and Moore can step up his game the Celtics should not be counted out as a serious playoff contender. Despite the slow start, this Celtic team is showing encouraging traits. There aren’t many teams in the NBA that could surge back from 27 down against Dwight Howard and the Magic to win the game by 8 points.

Red Sox After Oswalt

The Red Sox are gunning for free agent starter Roy Oswalt to complete their pitching staff. Oswalt has long been one of the top pitchers in the MLB, so adding his arm could mean the difference between whether the Red Sox are a Wild Card team or World Series contender. Boston has reportedly made an offer to Oswalt and Sox management expects to hear a decision from him soon. You can read more about the Oswalt chase here.

The First Phone Call Ever Made

via Boston.com-”March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell made the very first phone call in history from his Boston machine shop. The call was to his assistant, Thomas A. Watson, in which Bell chimed, from down the hall, ‘Watson come here, I want you!’ ”
