The Boston Bruins open the 2011-2012 regular season at the TD Garden on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Bruins swept the Flyers during their Stanley Cup Playoff run last spring, avenging the B’s epic meltdown against of the Flyers in the previous Postseason. The Bruins will raise their first Stanley Cup Championship banner in 40 years before Thursday’s 7 pm game.
Boston looks to Keep The Cup as most of their Championship squad returns this year. Plus, younger stars like Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin should make a bigger impact in their second full season. Seguin saw limited action last year especially in the Playoffs but he should be on the ice quite a bit this season.
Seguin moves to wing to start the season, which should free him from some Defensive responsibilities he carried as a center-iceman and allow him to score more goals. A mix of Veteran leaders and emerging young talents makes this B’s team a real threat to repeat as Stanley Cup Champs.
