Bruins Beat Canadiens, Look Ready To Repeat

The Bruins open the 2011-2012 regular season next Thursday, and they are coming in with morale at an all time high. It seems like yesterday they brought the Stanley Cup back to Boston, but  their quest to repeat is about to begin.

Nothing better to put the B’s on the right track than a scrappy victory in Montreal.

The Bruins edged the Candiens 2-1 on Monday night behind solid play from Tuukka Rask. All signs point to a bigger workload for Tuukka despite the legendary season from Tim Thomas last year. It is unlikely Thomas could duplicate such a performance and he’s not getting any younger so the Bruins will rely on Tuukka to start more games and keep Timmy fresh for the post-season.

2nd year prodigy Tyler Seguin scored for the second day in a row. Seguin has been showing signs of improvement this pre-season and looks to take a much larger role in the Bruins gameplan than he did last year. If Seguin steps up, he could be exactly what the  B’s need to keep the Cup in Beantown.

It’s only the Pre-Season, but there are plenty of positive vibes coming from the Black and Gold. Boston won’t have to deal with the Stanley Cup hangover if they just keep the buzz going, right?
