Jacoby Lifts Sox in 14th, Season Comes Down To The Wire

The Red Sox pulled out an epic extra innings win against the Yankees to stay 1 game ahead of Tampa Bay in the Wild Card race. Jacoby Ellsbury proved why he is the favorite to win MVP by blasting a 3 run homer in the top of the 14th to lead Boston to victory.

The Rays arrive in New York today as the Sox travel to Baltimore for the final series of the regular season.  Josh Beckett looks to put the Red Sox one step closer toward the playoffs tonight as he faces off against Baltimore’s Tommy Hunter.

After 159 games Boston and Tampa are still neck and neck. The Fenway Faithful will be hanging on every pitch for the next 3 days. While the Sox have been horrendous as of late, the slate will be wiped clean if they get into the post-season. Anything can happen in October. We just need to get there.
