Now that the Rays are only 3.5 Games back I understand why some people are pushing the panic button. Last week I told Red Sox Nation to calm down, and even though things have since gotten worse I’ll say it again this week. At this time of year health is an issue for every team, and the Red Sox are no exception. Boston’s rotation has been decimated by injury problems, most recently to Josh Beckett. However, Beckett is set to throw off the mound today and could return to action as early as this weekend.
If he is already coming back I think Red Sox Nation can breathe a little easier. Beckett is clearly our best pitcher this year, so getting him back just in time for the home stretch will be a huge boost. The Sox are off tonight, prior to a 6 Game homestand that includes 4 huge games against the Rays.
The Wicked Knucklah takes another shot at Win 200 tomorrow night against to start things off against the Blue Jays.
It’s going to be a big week for Boston, so don’t miss any of the Red Sox action. The season is on the line, but we need to Believe. Try to relax and as always, keep the faith.
