Josh Beckett rejoined the Red Sox on Wednesday after taking a day off to evaluate his ankle. While we have yet to receive an update on the severity of his injury, the good news is it’s just a sprain. Red Sox Nation ought to be thankful that he suffered no ligament damage and will not require surgery. The fact that he flew to Toronto to rejoin the squad is definitely a good sign.
Beckett will skip his next start to recover, so hopefully he comes back strong for the Playoffs. He better, because the Sox need his arm in October. He has been the clear Ace of the staff all year and has one of the best Post-Season resumes of any Pitcher in the history of baseball.
