Clay Buchholtz has been throwing again this week, trying to return from a lower back strain that has kept him out for the entire second half of the season. If Buchholtz is able to return, that would solve the Mystery of who the Red Sox third starter will be in October. For the next 3 weeks, Red Sox Nation will be praying for the recovery of Buchholtz and Josh Beckett.
Beckett-Lester-Buchholtz sounds a lot more like World Series winning rotation than Lester-Bedard-Lackey. With their incredible lineup, Boston should be contender regardless of how their rotation looks. But If Buchholtz and Beckett are able to come back and pitch to their full abilities, the Red Sox would probably be the favorite to win it all.
