Timmy Thomas is spending today in his hometown of Flint, Michigan with a special guest: The Stanley Cup.
Thomas was arguably the most important player during the Bruins’ Cup run, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Post-Season MVP and the Vezina Trophy for Best Regular Season Goaltender. Thomas allowed a mere 8 Goals in the 7 Game Stanley Cup Finals, and his .938 Save Percentage during the Regular Season was the best of all-time. He also broke the record for Saves in a Post-Season.
It’s pretty incredible that Thomas is bringing Home the Cup after he was nearly traded prior to last Season. Thomas’ performance and Leadership in 2011 will forever be remembered by Bruins fans. I have never seen any athlete play with more heart than Thomas down the stretch. Congrats Timmy, and Welcome Home!
