It’s a sad day in a New England.

The Kraft family is undoubtedly one of the most respected and loved business owners in New England.  Their transformation of the Patriots franchise kick-started the most epic sports decade that any town in America has ever seen.  Robert Kraft, the family patriarch, may be the most highly revered owner in the NFL.  His wife Myra, 68, passed away yesterday after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was famous for her tireless philanthropic efforts locally and internationally.

Governor Deval Patrick called her “a pillar of our community”.  The Kraft Family has received a tremendous amount of support from people around the globe in response to her passing.  Full Story

The boys from Beantown won their 3rd strait road game last night at Camden Yards.  Boston’s bats were alive as the Red Sox leaned on their offensive prowess yet again to best the Orioles 15-10

The Laser Show aka Muddy Chicken aka Dustin Pedroia was the catalyst again, sparking an 8 run rally in the 8th inning with a 2-run double.  When this Red Sox lineup get’s going, it seems like no one can stop them.

Newcomer Kyle Weiland takes the mound tonight in Baltimore as the Sox look to build some momentum here coming out of the break.

Dustin Pedroia came through in a big way last night, knocking in the games only run in the 16th inning.  The Laser Show hit a clutch single to break the stalemate after a lengthy pitching duel.  Pedy also made a couple of incredible defensive plays last night, making sure the Red Sox won behind another impressive performance by Josh Beckett.

Beckett went 8 innings and allowed only 1 hit before the bullpen took over. Alfredo Aceves got the win after another solid relief performance, pitching 3 extra innings under high pressure.  The game was the longest in Rays franchise history.  More

On Wednesday night, the Chowdaheadz went down to Gilette stadium for the biggest Soccer event of the summer! Charlie got to play soccer with Coach Jack and the Revs Girls (who totally have a crush on him).  Unfortunately, Charlie is shaped more like a Soccer ball than a Soccer player!

The biggest issue, the Rookie wage scale, is settled. As are the other financial issues. Football Fans, it’s over.

An official announcement could still be days away because they still need to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. But for all intents and purposes the deal is done and the NFL Lockout is coming to an end.

The next step will be a Free Agency Frenzy, since Pre-Season Game are slated to begin on August 7. Full Story Here

The Judge had some harsh words for the Prosecution yesterday, after their idiotic blunder led to the ruling of a mistrial:

“Government counsel can’t do what it thinks it can get away with. Any first year law student should know that.”

This after the Prosecutors entered testimony from Andy Pettitte’s wife.  Prior to the case ,the Judge had given strict orders not to mention Laura Pettite since her testimony was second-hand information.

So,  Clemens is a free man-for now.  He has another hearing scheduled for September 2.  Clemens’ counsel will try to bury the case under the Double Jeopardy rule, but legal analysts debate whether or not this will work.

For now, count this as a W  for the Rocket.

Timmy Thomas strikes again

Having already racked up the Vezina (Best Goalie in the NHL) and Conn Smythe (NHL PLayoff MVP) Awards this year, Tim Thomas added to his Trophycase last night.  Thomas certainly deserved the award after one of the greatest Stanley Cup Finals performances of all time.  He only allowed 8 Goals in 6 Finals Games.  He set the record for saves in a post-season.  And he stepped up as the leader of the Bruins during their magical Cup run.  Thomas also won the Espy for Best NHL Player.  Not bad for a guy who was almost traded before the Season started..

Jamichael was born at a whopping 16 lbs and 1 oz.  He is the size of the average 4-month-old and is the biggest baby ever born in Texas.  Yes, Texas, where EVERYTHING is bigger.  I can see this kid at Left Tackle protecting Tom Brady and Gisele’s Christchild in 20 years.

Benjamin Brady is already being groomed to run the Pats’ offense.  Seriously…he’s already been to training camp (below)
