The Boston Celtics let their play talk for itself on Thursday night with a 112-107 victory over the Miami Heat, but after the game, Paul Pierce let his twitter account do some of the talking as well.
“It’s been a pleasure to bring my talents to south beach and now on to Memphis,” Pierce tweeted.
The teams have already meet twice this season, before either team played in ten games, with Boston taking both of the contests. This win had a sweeter tune than the opening night win since the C’s took down the glorified Heat in their own arena.
Ray Allen hit his first seven 3-pointers and finished with 35 points as Rajon Rondo facilitated Allen’s and the Celtics offensive effort with 16 assists, adding to his NBA-leading total. As for Pierce? He chipped in 25 points of his own as the Celtics handed the Heat their second straight loss. Boston has won 13 of its last 14 regular-season meetings with the Heat.
And are now 2-for-2 with Lebron James and Chris Bosh now on the team from South Beach.
Jermaine O’Neal did not dress because he is battling knee soreness. But Glen Davis and Semih Erden filled in for the injured O’Neal, with the bench chipping in 23 points.
As Paul Pierce said, the Celtics head to Memphis to improve on their 7-2 record and take down the Grizzles.
