Celtics Tame Bulls In OT

The Boston Celtics played in overtime for the second straight contest and finished with the same result in each game.

A win.

It was a hard fought 110-105 victory for the C’s over the Bulls on Friday night as Kevin Garnett tipped a ball away from Joakim Noah in the final minute of overtime to help seal the victory for Boston.  Garnett had 16 points and 10 rebounds as Ray Allen led all Celtic scorers with 25 points.

Noah had 26 points and 12 rebounds for Tom Thibodeau’s, the Celtics former assistant, new-look squad.  Noah became just the sixth Bulls center in the last 25 years to register at least 25 points and 12 rebounds in a game.

Rajon Rondo was playing with sore feet on Friday night as the minor injury didn’t stop him from suiting up, but did limited him to a more human-like 10 points and 11 assists.  Rondo played through the pain even though trainers and Doc Rivers initially though that Rondo would not be able to play against the Bulls.

The Celtics (5-1) will head to Oklahoma City (3-2) to face Kevin Durant and the Thunder on Sunday as the C’s look to extend their early Atlantic Division lead.
