Blue Jays Set To Hire Farrell

The Toronto Blue Jays managerial search has reportedly come to an end with the neighbors from up-north choosing Red Sox pitching coach, John Farrell, as Cito Gaston’s replacement.

All the Jays and Farrell have to do now is come to terms on a contract, which will mark Farrell’s first managerial position in the major leagues.  Seen as Terry Francona’s in-house successor, the void left by Farrell’s departure will either go to DeMarlo Hale or Torey Luvullo.

Hale and former Indians catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. were among some of the finalists in Toronto’s search.
