For a second straight game, the Patriots will be without Fred Taylor and, virtually without, Randy Moss who was only targeted one time in New England’s 33-14 win over Miami two weeks ago.
With Taylor dealing with a toe injury, the Patriots will call upon BenJarvus Green-Ellis to carry the load against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Taylor, battling turf toe, suffered the injury in a Week 3 win over Buffalo. The veteran running back hasn’t practiced since injuring himself in the second half of the Bills game.
Taking Moss’ spot at wide receiver is newly acquired Deion Branch, who will embark on his second stint with the Patriots against the Ravens on Sunday after being traded away before the 2006 season. The Patriots will most likely look to execute a dink-and-dunk offensive strategy, circa 2001-05, when the team was most successful.
