It may only be the preseason opener, but the Boston Celtics looked very impressive in their 93-65 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday night.
In Shaq’s debut for the C’s, the Big Shamrock scored eight points while playing with the starting unit in place of Kendrick Perkins and Jermaine O’Neal.
Ray Allen led the charge for Boston with 14 points as Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis and Semih Erden both added 13 points. The Celtics led 70-40 after three quarters of play, and held their big league even with the bench playing the majority of the time.
It may be a little to early to get worked up for the Celtics, but with the Red Sox season over, it may be time to turn our attention to the Green Team and their quest at bringing banner No. 18 to the Garden.
