Boston Holds Onto Victory Over Grizzles
Maybe all the Boston Celtics needed was some time to get away from the Garden’s parquet in order to figure things. The C’s looked out of sorts earlier on in the season as they stumbled after their fast start but have started to figure things out recently on their current road trip by winning eight straight games on the road as they sit at 12-1 away from the Garden this season.
With eight of its last nine games on the road, the C’s have turned up the heat in the Eastern Conference, securing themselves top spot in the division while managing to take control of the best record in all of basketball.
On Monday night, it was more of the same for Boston as the C’s held on for a 110-105 victory over the Memphis Grizzles to extend its winning streak to 11 straight.
Paul Pierce scored 19 points, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen added 18 of their own as Allen’s 3-pionter with 17.5 seconds left, sealed the deal for Boston, marking a perfect way for the Green Team to cap off its road trip.
Boston heads home for a tilt with the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday as the C’s welcome back familiar foe, Allen Iverson. Doc Rivers will look to have an answer for one of the NBA’s most prolific scorers in hopes of building on his teams current success and winning streak.
