Pedro Takes The Ball In Game 6 Of The World Series
There is a grocery list of adjectives that could describe the physical phenomena that was and still is Pedro Martinez. When pitching with the Boston Red Sox, Martinez brought a special ora to the ball park every day he pitched (actually even on days he didn’t pitch, remember the taping to the polls in the dugouts?) and in his seven years as a member of the Boston Red Sox, Pedey sparkled in the bright lights of the Boston media and organization and at the age of 38 good ole’ Pedro is still kickin’.
Martinez will take the ball tonight for the Philadelphia Phillies as he squares off against Andy Pettite and the New York Yankees in Game 6 of the World Series. For many, this would be a daunting task but for Pedro its, been there — done that.
N0. 45 has had his peaks and valleys in the home of the Bronx Bombers and he hopes that tonight doesn’t emulate that of the “Whose you Daddy?” days of 2003-04. But ultimately, Pedro Martinez holds the hearts of many in Boston and across the world, and I’m sure all that are watching tonight will be rooting for Mr. Martinez, as he takes on the dreaded Yankees.
