Former Minnesota Players Look To Take It To The T-Wolves
Kevin Garnett has been a member of the Boston Celtics for three years now and it seems like an eternity ago that he was the key cog for the Minnesota Timberwolves. But KG spent 12 years with the Minnesota franchise, and will always look back on his years with the Timberwolves as years of disappointment and years of what could have been, but never happened.
Shelden Williams spent 15 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves and somehow he feels the same way, regarding the bottom-dwelling organization. The two Celtics will face their old team tonight in hopes of extending its winning streak to six games.
And exacting a little hidden revenge.
The C’s are off to a hot start in 2009 due to the re-emergence of Garnett and solid play of Williams. The former Duke University basketball star is filling in nicely for injured Glen “Big Baby” Davis by averaging 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds this season.
With speculation already that the Celtics will beat the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls squad who managed only ten losses in 82 games, the C’s still have a goose egg in the loss column, but are only five games through the 2009-10 NBA season. There is still a lot of work to be done, just ask Kevin Garnett or Shelden Williams.
Celtics vs. Timberwolves, 8 p.m. in Minnesota.
