Sabathia To Take The Ball For Game 4

Yankees Plan To Start Sabathia

The Yankees are putting their money with their mouth is by sending their $161 million southpaw to the mound on three days rest for Game 4.  The richest pitcher in baseball history will try and prove his worth on Sunday night as the Bronx Bombers look to win tonight in order to position themselves one win away from their 27th World Series Championship.

C.C. Sabathia will square up against Joe Blanton of the Philadelphia Phillies as Blanton has the responsibility of stopping the bleeding before the series gets too far out of hand for the Phillies.  Sabathia will be working on three days of rest and with an 19-8 record and 3.37 ERA in his first year in New York, Sabathia has inserted himself as one of baseball’s best pitchers and passed the test of nerves in his first year in the Bronx.

With a 3-1 record and 1.52 ERA in the postseason, Joe Girardi hopes that his prized lefty will come up big in Game 4 of the World Series at Citizens Bank Park.
