Boston Powers Past Blue Jays
The Red Sox weren’t suppose to win against Roy Halladay, right? Well the local nine didn’t pay any attention to what the pundits and baseball world had to say on Wednesday night as the Sox took care of business and handed ace, Roy Halladay, his sixth loss of the season with a 6-1 thumping brought to you by Clay Buchholz and the Red Sox offense.
After winning Tuesday evenings contest by the hair on Terry Francona’s head (kidding), the Sox were suppose to lose to Doc and the Blue Jays. However, Halladay looked tired on the mound as the Sox powered past him and Toronto pitching with 10 hits and three home runs.
Buchholz went six deep, striking out four Blue Jays and allowing just one run. Jason Bay, David Ortiz, and Victor Martinez all went deep for Francona as the Sox look to sweep the fourth-place Blue Jays as Jon Lester takes the mound on Thursday taking on Brett Cecil.
Let’s hope the Sox don’t look past Thursday’s game and onto the big weekend series with the New York Yankees.
