Sox Look To Take Two Straight From Tigers
A 6-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Monday night was exactly what the Boston Red Sox needed. With Junichi Tazawa making his first major league start tonight for the Bo-Sox, Terry Francona and company hope that the 23-year-old right hander is as good as advertised.
Even with his first decision as a Red Sox going in the loss column, thanks in part to a game-winning two-run home run from Alex Rodriguez, Tazawa could possibly be the missing piece to the Red Sox puzzle. Plugging a dynamic right-handed pitcher in the fifth spot could help ease the overworked bullpen and inconsistent starting rotation.
Tazawa toes the rubber tonight, squaring off against fellow youngster Rick Porcello of the Tigers. First pitch is at 7:10 from Fenway Park.
