The Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic may have been playing on the Garden parque Wednesday night but Eddie House and Rajon Rondo truly held center stage as the two guards led Boston to a 112-94 victory over the Magic to even the Eastern Conference semifinal at one game apiece.
Rajon Rondo had his third triple-double of this posteason tying Larry Bird’s franchise record. Rondo had 15 points, 18 assists, and 11 rebounds for Doc Rivers and the Celtics as Eddie House scored 31 points, a career high, off of the Celtics bench while also adding four rebounds and two assists.
Ray Allen added 22 points for the C’s as Kendrick Perkins went 7-for-10 from the field scoring 16 points.
In a pivotal Game 2 in Boston, Paul Pierce was a non-factor by getting in early foul trouble, registering his third foul early in the second quarter and fourth foul just four minutes into the third. House went 11-for-14 from the floor and went 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
House sparked the Celtics faithful and delievered exactly what the Doctor (Rivers) ordered from the Boston bench.
The two teams now head to Orlando to square off in Game 3 on Friday night.
